Erin's Breast Cancer Fundraiser Benefiting Bright Pink

A few weeks ago, I heard my doctor say, "Erin, I'm so sorry and wasn't expecting to tell you this, but your tumor is malignant. Thank God we removed it."Uh, yeah.

I have been diagnosed with triple negative invasivebreast cancer. About 10-15 percent of all breast cancer cases are triple negative, meaning the tumor doesn't respond to estrogen, progesterone or HER2. It responds to good, old-fashioned chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. For more information on triple negative, please visit www.tnbcfoundation.org.

Although this happened to me, I can't let it HAPPEN to ME. I AM HAPPENING TO BREAST CANCER! I needed something positive to come from the triple negative blow I was dealt.And it's already happening: my aunt has reconnected with her cousin as we try to figure out family history, someone will get a wig from my hair, I've been surrounded by love in all corners of the country. It's been amazing.

I'll have surgery December 26 and we'll keep you posted on mychemotherapy and radiationtreatments. Please considerwearing your shirt to show your support when I have chemo. I'll be wearing mine too.
